We (me and my team) are working to my new website. We have a very ambitious plan oriented to shake the solo adult sites current concept from the foundation and with two words in mind: user and innovation. As we start developing it, i would like to involve you calling, as we progress, for your feedback and ideas.
Some considerations first:
i think that tours are old or, if you prefer, boring. With all the free porn out there, a tour is too static and obsolete to attract users attention and to keep them coming back. The "latest updates" section alone serves merely for convincing the user that in the members area they will find regular updates and to feed Google with some new content. The blog section: does anybody even read adult solo sites blogs at all, anymore? If you've got something to say, you use Twitter and to a lesser extent Facebook, already, and blogs about how cool you are and what you did yesterday or will do tomorrow are tedious and redundant. Which brings up another issue, imo: there is too much wording about how great a paid experience is going to be and too little substance to support that. It's a one shot game: the user lands on your site and either pays for subscription in the next 3 mins or leaves because there is nothing else to do, but browsing 20 teasing pictures and a few short clips which probably are those who led the user to your site from some other affiliates sites or tubes or forums in first place. If you are not a paid member, interaction with the performer is not existent, reducing the adult solo website to an advertising banner which people get to see because it has been advertised somewhere else (affiliates, social networks, paid ads, forums, whatever) in a vicious circle: "Hey, click on this link or banner or picture to come see my banner which should convince you to buy my product".
